JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas stated that the Murur scheme during mabit (staying) in Muzdalifah had been studied taking into account aspects of the fiqh law and the security of the congregation.

"There have been several choices of Murur's scheme. Because we are not only allowed to talk about how Murur can be carried out easily. There is a fiqh law which I think needs to be discussed," said Minister of Religion Yaqut in Jeddah, Monday, June 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

"God willing, the scheme will be finalized soon, including considering the huge interest of the pilgrims to take part in this Murur. Hopefully today we can formulate the best for the congregation and ensure that Murur can run smoothly," he said.

The Murur scheme is a joint ijtihad and endeavor in maintaining the safety of the soul of Indonesian pilgrims in the midst of limited areas in Muzdalifah, an area designated for Indonesian pilgrims covering an area of 82,350 m2.

In 2023, around 183,000 Indonesian pilgrims are occupied, which is divided into 61 maktab. Meanwhile, there are around 27,000 Indonesian Hajj participants (9 maktab) who occupy the Mina Jadid area, so that everyone at that time only got space or place around 0.45 m2 in Muzdalifah.

Meanwhile, in 2024 Mina Jadid will no longer be occupied by Indonesian pilgrims, so that 213,320 participants and 2,747 Hajj officers will occupy the entire Muzdalifah area.

Whereas this year there is also the construction of a toilet that takes place in Muzdalifah covering an area of 20,000 m2, so that the space available for each person if everything is placed in Muzdalifah, 82,350 m2 - 20,000 m2 or the same as 62,350 m2 / 213,320 = 0.29 m2.

Thus, he said, the place in Muzdalifah is getting narrower and this has the potential to be very dense and extraordinary which if left unchecked will endanger the congregation.

The Murur scheme is prioritized for pilgrims who experience high risk medically, elderly (elderly), disabled, wheelchaired, and congregational companions (cryssia, the elderly, disabled, and wheelchaired).
