"From the results of the operation, officers secured five motorbikes, 12 mobile phones and one double stick," said Medan Labuhan Police Chief AKP PS Simbolon in Medan, Antara, Sunday, June 9. PS Simbolon said this arrest was the result of a joint operation involving a team from the Belawan Harbor Police, Medan Labuhan Police, Kodim 0201 BS and the Medan City Government. According to him, this arrest began with a public report conveying that there were members of a motorcycle gang suspected of wanting to carry out a brawl at Pasar V Bantenan, Manunggal Village on Sunday, June 9 in the morning. Then, the joint team came to the location and arrested 12 members of the motorcycle gang, namely M (16), AG (16), Y (18), MFA (16), SP (20), RS (17), MR (19), MA (16), MF (20), MA (19), AP (20) and MH (25). "They are divided into two groups, namely the motorcycle gang Sarang Tawon and the Son of the Simpang Gas Mystery," said the police chief. The results of the interrogation, he said, were found to have joined forces to attack the Simple Life motorcycle gang at Pasar VI, Manunggal Village. However, before the brawl took place, the joint patrol team managed to arrest them while gathering at Pasar V Bantenan. "In addition, from the results of the urine test, two of them, namely MFA and AP, tested positive for using drugs," said PS Simbolon. Currently, said Simbolon, the 12 members of the motorcycle gang are still in the further investigation stage. Those who are proven to have committed a criminal act will continue in the investigation process. "This arrest shows the seriousness of the apparatus in maintaining security and order in the jurisdiction of the Belawan Harbor Police and providing a deterrent effect to street criminals," said Simbolon. Previously, the Hamparan Perak Police in the ranks of the Belawan Port Medan Police arrested 22 teenagers suspected of being motorcycle gangs who wanted to carry out a brawl in Hamparan Perak Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra in the early hours of Wednesday (26/5). During the arrest, officers also secured four sharp weapons consisting of three sickles and one long sergeri machete.
