A tourist from Depok City, West Java with the initials JB (30) died from drowning while swimming with his colleague at Sunset Beach, Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Saturday.

"The victim's body, which lives on Jalan KH Busman, RT 05/04, Kukusan Village, Beji District, was found not far from the location of the incident on the beach in Cisolok Village/District," said Sukabumi Police Head Polairud AKP Tenda Sukendar in Sukabumi, Saturday.

Information gathered from the Sukabumi Police Satpolairud personnel, before the incident or around 15.45 WIB, the victim swam with a colleague on Sunset Beach.

Seeing that someone was swimming, one of the villa owners and residents around the beach tried to warn the two of them not to swim because at that time the sea was high and the waves were high.

But unfortunately the warning was ignored by the two tourists from Depok, finally not long after the residents saw that the two tourists were already in the middle of the sea.

The villa owner who saw the condition of the victim and his partner continued to be hit by the waves and their bodies were dragged by the ocean currents and immediately took a slide with the Sukabumi Regency Tourism Rescue Agency (Balawista) officer to provide assistance.

Both of them were successfully evacuated to land and immediately rushed to the Cisolok Health Center, but unfortunately one of the tourists was declared dead, allegedly due to drowning and drinking lots of sea water.

"The victim and his partner have been warned not to swim because the sea is high plus high waves and heavy currents, but unfortunately the warning was ignored," he added.

Tenda said that after being declared dead, the victim's body was taken to the Palabuhanratu Hospital for a post-mortem and the result was that the victim was confirmed to have died in a sea accident. His body is still in the hospital waiting for the victim's family to pick him up
