Creates Fire Flower Shooting Content To Lamborghini From Helicopter, YouTuber Alex Choi Threatened With Prison

JAKARTA - A famous YouTuber from Los Angeles, United States (US), Suk Min Choi alias Alex Choi (24) was arrested because of his YouTube content. The content contains, firing fireworks at Lamborghini from a helicopter.

Alex Choi was arrested on Wednesday, June 5, and charged with causing the placement of explosives or incendiaries on the plane, the US Attorney General's Office for the California Central District announced in a news release released by CNN, Friday, June 7.

Choi, who has 923,000 followers on YouTube and 1.2 million followers on Instagram, posted a video entitled Dismantling Lamborghini with Kembang Api on July 4, 2023, according to a written statement filed with criminal charges.

The nearly 11-minute video, which was no longer posted on Choi's social media page, shows two women firing fireworks out of the helicopter and heading for a sports car, a written statement said.

After recording what appeared to be a live-action version of the fictional video game scene, the video turned to behind-the-scenes view of how Choi recorded the first third of the video. In this section of the video, Choi allegedly made various references about herself coordinating shooting, "said the US Attorney's Office.

Authorities believe the footage was taken in June 2023 in a federal government-owned area in El Mirage Dry Lakebed in San Bernardino County, California. The Land Management Bureau provided a photo of the used tires left by the sports car, according to prosecutors.

Choi is also accused of not having the right permission to shoot the area, including approval of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for plans for filming activities involving the helicopter, according to a written statement.

In addition, prosecutors said Choi went to Las Vegas to buy fireworks because fireworks are illegal in California.

No one else was involved in the video mentioned in a written statement. No injuries were reported as a result of the action, Ciaran McEvoy, a spokesman for the US prosecutor's office, told CNN.

Many videos on Choi's YouTube channel show a striking luxury sports car, although the latest video was posted in December.

Choi first appeared in court on Thursday, June 6 and was released on USD 50,000 bail, McEvoy said. Choi did not file a defense. The trial is scheduled for July 2.

He faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison if found guilty, according to prosecutors.
