The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the summons of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto as a witness in the case of former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku who is still at large is not due to outside legal issues. This effort was solely made to confirm the newly pocketed information.

"So it's not because of other things, but because there is new information, yes, it is obligatory for us to follow up, that's all," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Friday, June 7.

Ali said that the summons to dig up Harun's whereabouts was not only addressed to Hasto. Because, at the end of May, three witnesses were summoned, one of whom was an advocate named Simon Petrus.

As for Ali, he did not specify the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. He said the information circulating was too much to potentially thwart the search.

"If the search process, right, we can't convey it technically. Whether it's at home or abroad, but what is certain is that overseas has been pursued and a search has been carried out. Domestically, it is also carried out," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK plans to summon PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto on Monday, June 10. He will be questioned about the fugitive being sought by the anti-corruption commission, Harun Masiku.

Related to this, Hasto stated that he was ready to fulfill the KPK's summons. He admitted that he could wear it if he did not show his nose at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta because PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who founded the institution while serving as the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I will come with the responsibility of being a citizen, fulfilling the summons, especially since the KPK was founded by Mrs. Megawati. Kualat if I am not present. So I will attend," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.

Meanwhile, Harun Masiku is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through interim shifts (PAW).
