Losses Of Village Office Fire In West Kalimantan Rp410 Million, Police Find Out The Trigger

The police are investigating the cause of the fire at the Suka Maju Village Office, Mentebah District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province (Kalbar).

"The village office and its contents in the form of documents are all burned, we are still investigating the cause of the fire," said Chief of the Deliberative Sector Police Inspector of Police One (IPTU) Didik Rianto when contacted, Thursday, June 6 evening, confiscated by Antara.

Didik explained that the Suka Maju Village Office fire occurred on Thursday, June 6 at 03.00 WIB. He said his party had received a report from the Head of Suka Maju Village on behalf of Moh Solihin and examined a number of witnesses.

Didik said that based on eyewitness testimony, namely Sabri, the first time the fire was lit on the roof of the Suka Maju Village Office building.

At that time the witness admitted that he wanted to go to the mosque to perform the dawn prayer, but he saw a fire on the roof of the Suka Maju Village Office which was not far from the witness's house.

For this incident, Sabri ran to his brother's house named Samsuri (witnesses) to ask for help.

"The two witnesses then ran to shout to the Suka Maju Village Office to inform residents that there was a fire," explained Didik.

The two witnesses tried to extinguish the fire with makeshift equipment.

At that time, Samsuri's son, Yoga, also helped extinguish the fire, but Samsuri asked his son to inform residents that there was a fire asking for help.

"The fire was only extinguished at the help of residents at around 06.00 WIB," said Didik.

"The loss is estimated at around Rp. 410 million and the fire incident is still under our investigation," said Didik.
