Penajam Prosecutor's Office Searches For Misappropriation Of Hotel Suite Assets And 026 SDN

PENAJAM - Penajam Paser Utara District Attorney's Office, East Kalimantan, is tracing the use of regional assets managed to become Penajam Suite Hotels and the construction of the 026 State Elementary School which is suspected of being misappropriated.

"Currently we are still investigating to find evidence whether there are criminal incidents or not in the use of regional assets and the construction of the school," said North Penajam Paser District Attorney Faisal Arifuddin, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 6.

"If in collecting evidence, a criminal act is found, it has only been raised from the investigation stage to the investigation stage," he added.

The investigative team is still collecting evidence against the alleged corruption case which is currently being handled and examining a number of witnesses.

In the case of alleged misappropriation of the use of regional assets managed as Penajam Suite Hotels, added Kajari, investigators have examined as many as 18 witnesses.

"Then as many as five witnesses have been examined in the case of alleged irregularities in the construction of the 026 State Elementary School (SDN)," he explained.

The North Penajam Paser District Attorney in 2024 also investigated two other alleged corruption cases, namely embezzlement of securities at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Penajam 2 Sub-Ban Branch Office and misappropriation of the management of Benuo Takata Regional Public Company (Perumda) funds in 2021 2022.

"Nine witnesses have been questioned in connection with the alleged embezzlement of BSI KCP Penajam 2 securities," he said.

"The alleged irregularities in the management of Perumda Benuo Taka's 2021 2022 funds have been examined by five witnesses," added Kajari.

If in the investigation stage two strong pieces of evidence are found that lead to indications of corruption in the case, investigators will raise the case to the investigation stage.
