JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) was reported to the House of Representatives Honorary Council (MKD) regarding his statement regarding all political parties agreeing to amend the improvement of the 1945 Constitution.

The report was submitted by an Islamic student in Jakarta named M.Azhari to the Deputy Chairperson of the DPR MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam at the Nusantara III building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.

Azhari assessed that the statement was not Bamsoet's capacity to convey it to the public. Because according to him, there has been no agreement from 9 factions in the DPR regarding the amendment.

"Even though he is not at his capacity to state this because what I have read in online media there are no faction meetings as it should be," said Azhari.

Azhari said there was an alleged violation of the code of ethics for conveying this was not in his proper position. He also submitted Bamsoet's statement file which was broadcast by several media.

"The alleged violation of the code of ethics committed by Teradu is related to the statements made by the Defenders in online media stating that 'all political parties have agreed to amend the 1945 Constitution and ensure that they are ready to make the amendments, including to prepare the transitional regulations," said the main complaint submitted by Azhari to the MKD.

"The complainant sees that the defendant is not in his capacity as the Chair of the MPR to represent other political parties to state things as described above," he said.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam said the report had been received by his party. However, MKD also needs to verify first.

"Yes, of course we will follow up on the report, from Azhari today maybe on Monday we or tomorrow we will process this report. We will verify this report first, it's true or not, the address of the reporter is in accordance with the ID card or not, if it is correct, we will definitely call it," he explained.

Previously, MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) said the MPR was ready to amend the 1945 Constitution. The senior Golkar politician claimed that the political party had also agreed to amend.

"We want to emphasize that all political parties agree to amend the improvement of the existing 1945 Constitution, including the restructuring of our political system and democratic system," said Bamsoet after meeting with the Chairman of the MPR RI for the 1999-2004 period, Amien Rais, Wednesday, June 5.

"We at the MPR are ready to make amendments, ready to make changes because we already have the SOP, we have prepared the red carpet, including ready with transitional rules where things were not previously regulated, we make it in the transitional rules," he continued.

Bamsoet hopes that the future MPR can make amendments that require the six-month period.

"We hope that later the upcoming MPR, this will take accelerated steps to improve our Constitution, reorganize our political and democratic systems that are already trapped in an alarming situation, make us disoriented and we are afraid of being trapped in potential divisions between us," he explained.

Even so, Bamsoet conveyed that the amendments would be returned to the decisions of all political parties. "The point is that we return it to the leadership of political parties, maybe nine or eight in the future, plus DPD," said Bamsoet.
