Jakpro Promises To Give Job Training Instead Of Renting KSB, Residents Of Kampung Bayam: Actually No Need

JAKARTA - BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo promised to hold job training because it did not provide access to residential rentals for Kampung Susun Bayam (KSB) to former residents of Kampung Bayam.

However, according to one resident of the Kampung Bayam Madani Farmers Group, Neneng, his party felt that they did not need the training.

"Actually, in my opinion, as a farmer group, we don't need training anymore. Because when we wanted to wake up the KSB, there was already training from the provincial government. What else do you want to do?" Neneng told reporters, Wednesday, June 5.

Residents of Kampung Bayam have previously mediated with Jakpro and the DKI Provincial Government. This mediation is facilitated by the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM).

As a result, Jakpro still did not want former Bayam Villagers to inhabit KSB. Thus, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government decided to build a new flat (rusun) for them.

"Yesterday's agreement, we are waiting for it to be moved. We are promised the flats in Yos Sudarso. As long as the flats in Yos Sudarso have not materialized, yes we will still be temporarily occupied," said Neneng.

Currently, residents of Kampung Bayam live in temporary housing on Jalan Tongkol, Ancol, North Jakarta (Jakut), while waiting for the new flat to be built by the DKI Provincial Government. In the mediation, Jakpro agreed to provide basic needs such as electricity and water.

"For the time being, if electricity and water are still assisted by Jakpro. Well, later there will be an audience with the Mayor. The continuation is still in progress," explained Neneng.

KSB was founded since the leadership of former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. When inaugurated in October 2022, Anies promised KSB to become a residence for residents affected by the eviction of JIS development.

However, residents of Kampung Bayam and PT Jakpro did not find an agreement regarding the KSB rental rate. The dead end continued until the leadership was replaced by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

On Tuesday, May 21, residents of Kampung Bayam were surrounded by Jakpro security forces, Satpol PP to the police at KSB, after several months of living without permission at the residence. They were forced to leave KSB as their place of residence.
