Former Employees Become The Brain Of A Gang Of Banyuasin Basic Food Shop Robbers That Make Victims Lose IDR 400 Million

PALEMBANG - South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) revealed that a former food shop employee was the mastermind behind a gang of thieves in Banyuasin.

"AT is the mastermind of a total of six perpetrators of the theft of basic food stores on Jalan Pangeran Ayin, Kenten Laut Village, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin on May 26, 2024. AT itself has worked at the shop last in 2020," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the South Sumatra Police, Kombes M. Anwar Reksowidjojo, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 3.

Kombes Anwar said the six perpetrators carried out their actions on May 26, 2024 in the middle of the night while the victim was sleeping. The brain of the perpetrator is AT, a former employee of the victim who last worked with the victim in 2020.

"Hearing the perpetrators entering his shop, the victim rushed to lock the door of his room, but immediately ransacked the perpetrator," he said.

The perpetrator immediately threatened the two victims with firearms, then locked the two victims with the victim's eyes and hands and watered the victim with gasoline while forcing the victim to show valuables.

After that, he said, the perpetrator took money, gold, cellphones, and dozens of packs of cigarettes in the shop with a loss of Rp. 400 million. The perpetrator then fled leaving the victim by car.

Based on the victim's report, members conducted an investigation within 4 days the members managed to arrest six perpetrators at their respective homes.
