PKS DKI Continues To Lobby To Be Carried In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, Anies Waits For The Coalition

JAKARTA - The PKS DKI Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPW) visited Anies Baswedan's residence in the Lebak Bulus area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, May 30.

Secretary of the DKI Jakarta PKS DPW Abdul Aziz said the goal of meeting the former Governor of DKI Jakarta was to stay in touch after the 2024 General Election.

However, PKS also continues to lobby Anies for his willingness to be promoted as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.

"We provide support to him. If he wants to run again in Jakarta, we are ready to provide moral support," Aziz told reporters, Friday, May 31.

When responding to this, according to Aziz, Anies welcomed it. However, Anies is still waiting for PKS to determine the coalition of the supporting party.

Bearing in mind, PKS still has to look for political parties to form a coalition in the nomination of cagub-cawagub pairs in the DKI Pilkada, even though they are the winning party for the 2024 DKI Jakarta DPRD Legislative Election.

"This is still the territory of parties that are not individuals. Because he doesn't have a party, right. 'If it's ready, the parties have a coalition, later I will answer this'. He said so," said Aziz.

However, the investigation to Anies was only a proposal from the DKI PKS DPW to the Party Leadership Council (DPP). The PKS DPP has not yet given any decision regarding the figures to be promoted.

Some time ago, the PKS DPP revealed that it would carry internal cadres in the 2024 DKI gubernatorial election. Thus, Anies' chances of being brought back by PKS such as the 2017 DKI Pilkada are getting smaller.

The three cadres projected to be promoted by PKS are PKS President Sohibul Iman, PKS DPP chairman Mardani Ali Sera, and DKI Jakarta PKS DPW Chairman Khoirudin.
