The President explained that the wastewater management system can protect the water environment, maintain groundwater quality and maintain raw water in Pekanbaru City.
The waste water management installation (IPAL) has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR with a total cost of Rp902 billion financed from various sources, namely the Asian Development Bank (ADB), APBN and APBB.

The IPAL which was inaugurated has a water volume capacity of 8,000 m3 per day with access to the piping network to households reaching 11 thousand house connections.
