EAST ACEH - The Sumatran tiger reportedly preyed on a resident's cattle cow in Panton Rayeuk T Village, Banda Alam District, East Aceh Regency.

East Aceh Police Chief AKBP Nova Suryandaru said the livestock was found dead at the South Julok Rayeuk oil palm plantation on Wednesday, May 28 evening.

"The incident was discovered by the livestock owner when he was about to move several of his cows tied to the oil palm plantation," Nova Suryandaru said.

The police chief said the livestock owner found his cows dead. On the animal's body, they found mark marks on the abdomen with the intestines scattered and wounds on the back of the body.

For this incident, the livestock owner reported it to the Banda Alam Police. Based on the report, members of the Banda Alam Police along with members of the local Koramil checked by visiting the location of the dead cow as a result of being eaten by a tiger.

"The results of the field inspection showed that there were several footprints that were thought to have been landed by tigers around the carcass of the cow," said Nova.

Regarding this incident, the Police Chief appealed to the public, especially those living around the location, to be more careful and alert in their activities outside the home, especially when in the garden.

"We also ask the public if they find new traces, remaining dirt, or footprints of wild animals to immediately inform the security forces to coordinate with the relevant agencies," Nova said.
