President Jokowi Visits The Funeral Home Of The Late Syarifah Salma, Habib Luthfi's Wife

President Jokowi had a dialogue with Habib Luthfi bin Yahya's first son, Habib Baha'udin Al-Alawi bin Yahya, while visiting the funeral home of the late Syarifah Salma bint Hasyim bin Yahya (ANTARA/HO-Presidential Secretariat).

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the funeral home of the late Syarifah Salma bint Hasyim bin Yahya, wife of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Habib Luthfi bin Yahya, in Pekalongan City, Central Java.

Quoted by ANTARA from a statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, the Head of State arrived at the funeral home at around 11.05 WIB.

Arriving at the funeral home, President Jokowi was greeted by Habib Lutfi bin Yahya's first son, Habib Baha'udin Al-Alawi bin Yahya.

The President also had a chance to chat with family representatives and pray that the bereaved family will be given fortitude and patience.

President Jokowi also participated in the funeral procession at the funeral home.

The late Syarifah Salma passed away at the age of 66 on Tuesday (28/5) night at Budi Rahayu Hospital, Pekalongan City, at around 21.55 WIB.

The late wife of Habib Luthfi often accompanied her husband during preaching and carrying out his duties as a member of Wantimpres.

The body of Syarifah Salma was buried at the family cemetery in the Maqbarah Sapuro Complex, Pekalongan City, today at around 14.00 WIB.

Also accompanying President Jokowi in the takziah were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno.
