A team from the Narcotics Directorate of the East Nusa Tenggara Police arrested a man (21) named Derik Tanda Saputra in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai in connection with a case of drug trafficking of methamphetamine in the tourist area.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Pol Ariasandy, told reporters that the arrest of Derik Tanda was made on Monday night at the Ruko Marina complex in Labian Bajo.

"Currently, Derik has been taken to the NTT Police Narcotics Directorate's Office to undergo further legal proceedings. He is subject to Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," Ariasandy said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 29.

Derik's arrest was made because two security guards worked at Ruko Marina who worked together to uncover drug trafficking in the area.

This case originated from information received by the Sub-Directorate 1 team of the Narcotics Directorate of the NTT Police regarding the circulation of methamphetamine in the West Manggarai area, the team immediately responded quickly.
