NasDem Bendum Ahmad Sahroni Will Be Presented By KPK Prosecutors At Tomorrow's SYL Session

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to present the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party Ahmad Sahroni in the trial of alleged extortion and gratification that ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Sahroni would testify with four other people on Wednesday, May 29. He is an additional witness presented by the prosecutor team.

"Added with witnesses outside the case files that will be presented, namely Ahmad Sahroni," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 28.

The other four witnesses presented were singer or singer, Nayunda Nabila Nizrinah; Laboratory Staff or Main Clinical Health Analysis, General Bureau and Procurement of the Ministry of Agriculture Yuli Yudiyani Wahyuningsih; driver at the Ministry of Agriculture Oky Anwar Djunaidi; and managing the household, Nur Habibih Al Majid.

"For the trial of the defendant Syahrul Yasin Limpo et al, tomorrow, May 29, it will be at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK named Syahrul Yasin Limpo, the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). This step was taken after he was caught in an alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities.

In this case, the KPK has confiscated a number of assets that Syahrul allegedly bought with money from corruption. One of them is a white Mitsubishi Sport Dakar hidden in an empty land in the Makassar area, South Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, the case of extortion and receiving gratuities that ensnared Syahrul is being tried at the Jakarta Corruption Court. He was charged with extortion of up to IDR 44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.

This action was carried out together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.

This money was used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. In addition, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 billion from January 2020 to October 2023.
