Perpetrators Of Selection Fraud Entering The TNI Who Raised Half A Billion In Cash Arrested In Manado

PALU - Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) said the perpetrators of the 2024 Indonesian National Army (TNI) selection fraud were arrested in Manado City, North Sulawesi.

"The perpetrator has been arrested and is currently on his way to Palu City from Manado, North Sulawesi," said Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Kompol Sugeng Lestari, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 28.

He said the perpetrator had the initials IWS (46) whose address was at Bulu Masomba Street, Lasoani Village, Mantikulore District, Palu City, which is still on its way to the Central Sulawesi Regional Police.

Sugeng said there were four people who were victims of the fraud. The perpetrator's mode is to promise the victim to become a member of the TNI by going through a special route or without a test.

"For the time being there are four people who have been victims, and all of them are residents from Poso Regency," he said.

Sugeng revealed, from this act, the perpetrators had received a sum of money from the victims of around Rp587,280,000 which was handed over in stages.

The arrest of the perpetrators in Manado City cannot be separated from the synergy of the National Police-TNI ranks in the local area and should be appreciated.

With this arrest, Sugeng also appealed to the people of Central Sulawesi who had been victims of the same mode of reporting the matter to the Central Sulawesi Police.
