JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office revealed that perpetrators of the Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) are targeting high school graduates (SMA) or Vocational High School (SMK) who want to work abroad with high salaries. "Workers who have just graduated from high school and vocational schools and are still looking for work are generally easily tempted by high-paid work offers abroad," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office R. Andika Dwi Prasetya in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, May 28. One of the efforts currently being made is to conduct education and socialization to schools so that prospective graduates have an understanding of legal procedures for working abroad. "So far, the victims of women and children are the most," he added. According to Andika, high school graduates need to understand the legal procedures of job opportunities abroad. "This can avoid not being a victim of TIP and TPPN crimes," he said. Andika said the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights through the Directorate General of Immigration had launched an Immigration Development Village program to prevent non-criminal trafficking in persons (TPPO). "The Ministry of Law and Human Rights through the Directorate General of Immigration has the latest program, namely establishing immigration fostered villages, where in every working environment the immigration offices must be formed," he said. Previously, the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights regional office on guidance from the Immigration Division of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights carried out activities within the North Jakarta TPI class 1 immigration office, socializing the activity. This socialization aims to make the community in the TPI North Jakarta work area have the same understanding of how to respond to situations that allow people to become victims of the efforts of individuals, as well as groups, as well as business groups that have the intention to commit TIP crimes and the Crime of Women's Slavery (TPPN). Andika hopes that the public can better understand how the procedure for becoming migrant workers is in accordance with the provisions of the Law (UU) and avoid illegal efforts made by irresponsible persons.
