4 Days Missing Elderly In Sikka NTT Still Wanted By SAR Team

The Joint SAR Team is searching for an elderly man who has been missing for four days in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). "The victim has been missing since May 22, 2024 and has not returned home until finally the family reported to the Maumere Basarnas Office on May 26, 2024 to carry out the search," said Head of Basarnas Maumere Supriyanto Ridwan in his official statement in Maumere, the capital of Sikka Regency, Antara, Tuesday, May 28. The victim named Kristophorus Raja (78) is a farmer and lives in Wualadu Hamlet, Kloangpopot Village, Doreng District. He is thought to have disappeared around the house to the garden on Wednesday (2/2). However, the victim's family only reported the incident on Sunday (26/5) after four days the victim disappeared and was not found by the family conducting the search. Information on the search has been coordinated together with all potential SAR such as the Sikka Police, Bola Police, Lanal Maumere, Sikka BPBD, village officials, and victims' families. The Joint SAR Team is still searching since Sunday (26/5) until today. All elements conduct searches and sweeps to the forest of Kloangpopot Village.

"Until 13.30 WITA today, the search is still nil and a search will continue until the seventh day for the evaluation of the search," said Ridwan.
