JAKARTA - North Korea has criticized South Korea for South Korea's commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a joint declaration with Japan and China, and has taken it as "humous" against the region and the international community.

The North Korean Foreign Ministry issued the statement hours after South Korean PresidentYoon Suk Yeol, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang held a Summit in Seoul, Monday, May 27.

"This is a joke and trick against regional countries and the international community that ROK (South Korean official name) talks about denuclearization, peace and stability," a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency, reported by ANTARA from Yonhap.

In the joint declaration, the three parties reaffirmed their respective attitudes regarding the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the issue of kidnapping and continued efforts to resolve politics on the peninsula issue.

"A comprehensive denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula has died theoretically, practically and physically," said the ministry.

North Korea then accused South of being the main cause of the severe security crisis inside and outside the peninsula by panickedly strengthening the military alliance to carry out aggression.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK (North Korea's official name) firmly condemns and rejects it (the commitment to denuclearization) because it is considered a blatant challenge to the sovereignty of the DPRK and unintentional interference in its domestic affairs," the ministry said.

North Korea, he continued, will firmly defend its national sovereignty and dignity from all enemy forces to deny its sovereignty.

As for hours before the three-way summit took place, North Korea announced its plans to launch a space rocket carrying military spy satellites.North Korea submitted the plan to Japan and said that the launch would take place before June 4.
