Maktour Travel Owner Explains Only Managing Airline Tickets For The SYL Group To Go Umrah

JAKARTA - Fuad Hasan Masyhur, owner of Maktour Travel underwent examination as a witness at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. He admitted that he only helped order tickets for the group of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo to worship Umrah.

"I have explained (to KPK investigators, ed). Here I want to explain that we do not serve Pak Syahrul's journey," said Fuad after the examination of reporters, Monday, May 27.

"My staff helps with ticket booking," he continued.

Fuad said the examination took a long time because he was asked for proof of booking tickets according to his confession. The total number of groups who participated he said was around 26 to 28 people.

"So I waited a bit earlier because I asked the office for proof of a reservation," he said.

The ticket bookings were made at the end of the year. Fuad admitted that his travel agent did not serve impromptu orders.

Meanwhile, regarding the affairs of the Syahrul hotel and its entourage, Maktour did not interfere with Fuad said. The reason is because orders are carried out suddenly at the end of the year which is usually crowded.

Fuad ensured that the trip using the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) budget was actually carried out. The cost is quite expensive because the group uses business class airlines.

"It's quite big. I must be honest because here the majority use business class here. Paid, paid. So it is paid by the ministry," he explained.

As previously reported, the KPK again summoned Fuad Hasan Masyhur, who is the owner of Maktour Travel on Monday, May 27. He should have been questioned on Tuesday, May 14.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Fuad's statement was needed to investigate allegations of money laundering by former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Meanwhile, Syahrul was charged as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). This step was taken after the development of the extortion and acceptance of gratuities that were being tried at the Jakarta Corruption Court was developed.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission has confiscated a number of assets that Syahrul allegedly bought with corruption proceeds. One of them is a white Mitsubishi Sport Dakar hidden in an empty land in the Makassar area, South Sulawesi.
