The Launch Of Voice Books For The Air Emphasizes The Role Of Parents In Supporting The Better Environment

JAKARTA - Air talks (National Children's Air Foundation), a Non-Profit Institute that actively conducts public education, research, collaboration, and advocacy to the government on issues of air pollution, in collaboration with Kinderkloud launched a book entitled Voice for Air.

Kinderkloud comes as an edutech startup focused on families with children in the first 2000 days of life. Through collaboration with Air Talks, this book emphasizes the importance of parents' role in early childhood literacy in supporting a better environment and improving air quality.

The book's launch coincides with the month of National Education, an appropriate momentum to advocate environmental literacy (eco-literacy) and build awareness and positive action towards the environment, particularly in improving air quality.

"We all have a role in improving air quality, more than just complaining or expecting the role of the government. Through this book, we try to give parents views on the importance of their participation in educating children about the environment," said Ratna Kartadjoemena, Co-Founder of Air Talks, during the launch at Burumi Playscape, Pacific Place, Jakarta, quoted on Saturday, May 25.

Ratna explained, in facing current environmental problems and challenges, parents are expected to be ready to be involved to ensure the future and sustainability of their children. Building environmental literacy (eco-literacy) among children is an important step to make them aware of limited resources and encourage wisdom in using these resources.

Nucha Bachri, the Parentalk Co-Founder who was also present at the launch talk show session, added that the importance of educating children to care about the environment can be started by growing awareness through things that are close to them.

"We have to start inviting children to be aware of environmental issues through the various media they like, like story books," he said.

According to Nucha, parents can invite their children to be aware of various activities that have an impact, such as saving water while bathing, saving electricity, and not burning garbage.

"In addition, we can invite them to adopt a green lifestyle such as bringing a brewlr to drink or a tote bag while shopping," he added.

The collaboration between Air Talk and Kinderkloud aims to prepare children to become intelligent readers as well as future leaders who care and are responsible for the environment and welfare of the planet. By improving the eco-literacy, it is hoped that children will be wiser in using natural resources and be more proactive in protecting the environment.
