A Month Of Sat Set, Cianjur Police Arrest 24 Drug Dealers Of Various Types

CIANJUR - Cianjur Police, West Java, arrested 24 suspected drug dealers of various types by securing evidence of marijuana weighing 22.6 grams and methamphetamine weighing 114.3 grams, as well as other illegal drugs. Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Aszhari Kurniawan said dozens of suspected drug dealers were arrested from a number of areas in Cianjur over the past month thanks to information from residents who were suspicious of activities in their neighborhoods. "Over the past month, we uncovered 18 drug cases with 24 suspects from various sub-districts in Cianjur. Most recently we arrested UI (40) a Sukabumi resident who circulated methamphetamine on the Cianjur-Sukabumi border," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Wednesday, May 22. For their actions, according to Aszhari, they were charged with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, Law Number 5 of 97 concerning psychotropics, and Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 concerning health with a maximum imprisonment for life or a maximum of 15 years. To eradicate drug trafficking of various types in Cianjur, he said, his party asked residents to report immediately when they found suspicious activities in the neighborhood where they lived to be followed up by officers, so that Cianjur was free of drugs. "Please report if you find anything suspicious, we will immediately send members to the field," he said. Kasat Narkoba Polres Cianjur AKP Septian Pratama said various ways were used by suspected drug dealers to trick officers, including the efforts made by UI residents of Sukabumi who work as truck drivers transporting sand dug materials. In running its illicit business, said Septian, while waiting in line at the sand mine, UI distributed methamphetamine to a number of users in Cianjur, so residents who found this reported to officers who immediately arrested the perpetrators with 40 grams of crystal methamphetamine evidence.

"We distributed police officers to the sand mine site and arrested the perpetrators who wanted to distribute methamphetamine to a number of buyers in Cianjur, officers secured 40 grams of crystal methamphetamine stored in small bags," he said.
