Suzuki Jimny To Mercedes Benz Sprinter Car Related To Alleged SYL Corruption Confiscated By KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a number of vehicles belonging to former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo. One of them is the white-stream Mercedes Benz Sprinter along with a car remote key that was allegedly hidden.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said this confiscation was related to the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) committed by Syahrul.

"The car was found in Bumi Permata Hijau Housing, Rappocini Village, Rappocini District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi and allegedly deliberately hidden," Ali told reporters at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 21.

In addition, investigators also confiscated cars and motorbikes at The Orchid Housing, Tanjung Merdeka Village, Tamalate District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. Ali detailed that the confiscated vehicle was an ivory New Jimny car along with a key and a silver dominant Honda X-ADV 750 CC motorcycle along with three keys.

"In order to maintain the condition of the vehicle, the storage area is deposited at the Makassar Polrestabes," said Alim

"This finding was later used as evidence in the investigation case file of the alleged money laundering offense suspect SYL," he continued.

In the case of the TPPU that ensnared Syahrul, investigators have confiscated a black Mercedes Benz Sprinter 315 CD luxury car and a car remote key on Monday, May 13. This vehicle allegedly deliberately hid a vehicle in a house in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

Then, the investigative team confiscated a house belonging to Syahrul in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Wednesday, May 15. This asset is suspected to have a value of IDR 4.5 billion.
