PAN Denies Rejecting Emil Dardak To Be Khofifah's Pair In The East Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi, denied that his party refused Emil Dardak to become the pair Khofifah Indar Parawansa in the 2024 East Java gubernatorial election.

Viva ensured that PAN supports the Khofifah-Emil pair to run again in the East Java gubernatorial election. Even the letter of support has been officially given by the PAN DPP.

"We have supported Mrs. Khofifah several years ago. In fact, officially a decree has been given from the PAN DPP," Viva told reporters, Monday, May 20.

Therefore, Viva emphasized that the issue of parties in PAN who did not agree with Khofifah returning to partner with Emil was not true. It is known, Emil Dardak received a recommendation from the Democratic Party.

"The issue is not true. Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil are very happy to be back in pairs in the 2024 East Java Pilkada," said Viva.

Previously, Khofifah Indar Parawansa denied that the National Mandate Party (PAN) had not given Emil Dardak blessing as his partner in the 2024 East Java gubernatorial election.

Khofifah emphasized that PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) had no problem with anyone as a deputy governor candidate who ran with him in the East Java gubernatorial election.

"Oh no, Mr. Zulhas, it's clear. It's up to Mrs. Khofifah to represent," said Khofifah at Widya Chandra, Jakarta, Friday, May 17, evening.
