JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the COVID-19 vaccination for artists and cultural observers at the Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiarja (PSBK), Kembaran Hamlet, Tamantirto Village, Kasihan District, Bantul Regency.

In his review, Jokowi was accompanied by the Governor of DI Yogyakarta Sri Sultan HB X, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and artist Butet Kertaredjasa.

Arriving at the vaccination site, Jokowi was presented with a dance with the theme 'petruk gets vaccinated' by Anter, accompanied by acapella music. There were also performances of a number of regional and national songs accompanying the vaccination.

In his review, Jokowi toured and chatted with a number of artists and cultural observers who were going to and were being vaccinated.

"This morning, I visited Bantul district, DIY province, to be precise at the Bagong kusutiajo art hermitage, where this morning there were vaccinations of 517 artists", Jokowi said in a YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, March 10.

The artists who were vaccinated against COVID-19 phase two for public service officers include music, dance, fine arts, painters, traditional arts, to modern art.

"Everything was vaccinated and thank God everything went well", said Jokowi.

Jokowi admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic made various economic conditions difficult. Especially art workers. They were forced to stop their art performances due to restrictions on community activities.

"We know this is a situation that is not easy, a situation that is not easy for art workers", said Jokowi.

Therefore, with the inclusion of Yogyakarta artists and cultural observers in the current vaccination targets, Jokowi hopes that they will continue to have enthusiasm for work.

"We must continue to care for the enthusiasm so that those who work in the art sector continue to have the enthusiasm to work even during the pandemic. There are restrictions, but his work never stops", said Jokowi.

"So, with vaccination, we hope that artists, art workers, all of them can be protected from COVID-19", he continued.
