Danny Pomanto Will Hold A COVID-19 Vaccine Festival At The Losari Pavilion, Starting With The Fajr Congregation Prayers

MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Government has scheduled a COVID-19 vaccine festival. The goal is to invite the people of Makassar not to be afraid of being injected with vaccines.

"We will make things that are interesting and not creepy. God willing, everyone obeys health protocols according to procedures. Vaccination is not part of the burden on society but is a community need," said Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) when observing mass vaccinations at the Graha Pena building, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Wednesday, March 9.

Danny Pomanto explained, the concept is to invite the public to participate in the morning prayers in congregation, then give a concrete explanation about vaccination.

After that, the community or participants who want to receive the vaccine are provided with seats while still implementing health protocols, keeping a distance and wearing masks.

"Our kick-off starts next week with the dawn prayer in congregation. There will be a thousand chairs prepared and the distance is determined. The plan is at the Losari Beach Pavilion, but if it rains we carry it out in the Karebosi field stands. insistence, "explained Danny Pomanto.

The concept itself, said Danny, would first be to carry out the morning prayers in congregation. After that, only the participants sat on the seats that had been provided.

For the initial implementation or kick off next week, it begins with the morning prayer for the congregation and is provided with 1000 spaced seats.

"It seems like on Losari Beach if it is not raining or at Karebosi. It must be in an open place so there are no queues and jostling," he explained.

As for the technicalities, 200 vaccinators were prepared complete with the stages of the vaccine standardization procedure.

"So we take the standard screaning stage and Makassar Recover. There are two stages in Makassar Recover, question screening and health screening by checking temperature, oxygen, blood pressure. Genise already exists, and we also use genose," he said.

Danny Pomanto said the steps taken by the City Government are certainly different from other cities. Therefore he hopes that the participants who have been vaccinated will be a motivator to encourage other potential participants to receive the vaccine.

"We hope that the thousand people who get this vaccine can become a motivator for other participants to want to be vaccinated next. We really hope that there will be no more fear and worry for the community to receive vaccines, "hoped Danny Pomanto.

Meanwhile, regarding the Makassar Recover Program, Danny Pomanto has divided tasks among all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). This division of tasks focuses on three parts, namely Health Immunity, economic recovery and social adaptation.

"So for the success of the Makassar recover program we have to work together. Today I assign all OPDs to take part to go directly to the community according to their main duties and responsibilities and to be responsible as local influencers in each area where they live," added Danny Pomanto.
