GARUT - Former Garut Regent Aceng HM Fikri for the Garut Regency Regional Head Election List (Pilkada), West Java, is an individual route by submitting administrative requirements for public support at the end of registration time on May 12, 2024.

The head of the Garut Regency KPU, Dian Hasanudin, said that there were two couples that day, namely Aceng HM Fikri and his partner and Agus Supriadi and their partner had registered and submitted support files according to the minimum requirements of 129,939 supporters spread across 22 of 42 sub-districts.

"The date starts for registration on May 8 and finally registration on May 12, (2024) at 23.59 WIB, and the last Mr. Agus has registered," said Dian, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 12.

He said that the Garut KPU previously noted that there were six pairs who registered as candidates for regent and deputy regent from the individual route, but until the deadline for registration there were only three couples who submitted documents for administrative requirements for public support.

The six couples, namely Aceng HM Fikri, were paired with Dudi Darmawan, then Agus Supriadi and his deputy A Miraz MS, then RD Aas Kosasih and his deputy Ano Juhana, Agis Muchyidin and his deputy Salman Alparisi, then the pair Indra Firmansyah and his deputy Sansan Hasanudin.

"Mereka enam pasangan yang meminta Silon (System Pencalonan) kepada kami hingga 12 Mei jam 12 malam, ada tiga bakal pasangan calon yang masuk di register, satu Aceng, Agis, dan Agus Supriadi," katanya.

He conveyed that three couples who did not submit the requirements automatically died could not be further stages, while the three couples who submitted the support files would be examined by the Garut KPU.

The Garut KPU, he continued, has not been able to decide whether the three pairs of candidates have met the requirements or not because they have to be checked for support files whose number of requirements must be spread to a minimum of 22 sub-districts as much as 129,939 support.

"We have not been able to determine the candidate pairs who meet the requirements, we will count the support, because there are physicalities that must be calculated one by one, for validation and truth," he said.

One of the candidates for regent Aceng HM Fikri came with his deputy and supporters to submit support files to the Garut KPU towards midnight.

Aceng is a former regent of Garut for the 2009-2014 period who was dismissed because of the brief marriage case conveyed the reason for returning to progress because he received encouragement from many people to return to lead Garut Regency.

He submitted evidence of support to the Garut KPU as much as 140,697 support spread across 39 sub-districts or exceeding the minimum limit of the conditions set by the Garut KPU.

"I was encouraged by the public to return to nominating from an independent path, if it is the will of the community I must implement it, perhaps yesterday's struggle has not been completed and has been delayed, hopefully now we can continue," said Aceng.

Another regent candidate Agus Supriadi came to the Garut KPU towards midnight to submit the administrative requirements for community support.

Agus is a former regent of Garut for the 2004-2009 period who broke up in the middle of the road due to a corruption case, saying that he was ready to run for the individual path by handing over around 161 thousand supports spread across 42 sub-districts.

"We made 161 thousand, almost 42 sub-districts, I want each sub-district to have participation in support, almost every village," he said.
