Update On COVID-19 As Of March 9: 6.389 New Cases, 7.496 Recovered Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 67.854 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6.389 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.39.945 people and as many as 144.311 active cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health's data, Tuesday, March 9.

Today's cases increased by 7.496 cases so that a total of 1.210.877 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 210 people and the total was 37.757 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1.781 cases and a total of 225.926 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 899 new cases with a total of 159.507 cases. DKI Jakarta has 867 new cases and a total of 353.075 cases. Then, East Java has 391 new cases and a total of 132.890 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1.871 cases recovered. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.655 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 977 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 428 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported zero cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases is Gorontalo. In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11.266.592.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 14.54 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 65.480 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 3.337.026 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.197.882 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
