When Too Much, Politics Embraces Prabowo To Danger Democracy

JAKARTA - Founder of Haidar Alwi Intitute (HAI), R Haidar Alwi, believes that embracing politics by Prabowo Subianto will endanger democracy if it goes too far in its implementation.

According to him, great power certainly requires great control. Therefore, there needs to be a balance of power or opposition to remind the government to continue to run the government in accordance with the law.

He considered that the politics of embracing the Prabowo style made the opportunity for a government without opposition even wider. The only hope of the opposition space is now in the hands of the PDI-P.

If PDIP finally loses, it is successfully embraced, it is almost certain that Pak Prabowo's government is without opposition. And this is of course a danger alarm for our democracy. Even further, it is also dangerous for Pak Prabowo's own government. This is because there is no control over power," said Haidar, Friday, May 10, 2024.
