Kemendikbudristek Asks Local Governments To Accelerate Disbursement Of Teacher Professional Allowances

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) has asked local governments (Pemda) to accelerate the process of disbursing teacher professional allowances (TPG) in order to realize teacher welfare.

Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education and Culture Nunuk Suryani stated this in line with the delay in disbursement of TPG in the first quarter of 2024 so that teachers must immediately disburse and accept it.

"The local government must channel the TPG funds to the teacher's account before the 14 working day limit since the TPG funds were received in the regional general treasury account," he said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 9.

He said the Ministry of Education and Culture supports the welfare of teachers, one of which is through TPG based on the presence of Permendikbudristek Number 45 of 2023 concerning Technical Guidelines for Providing Regional State Civil Apparatus Allowances.

His party consistently continues to oversee the TPG distribution process in accordance with the provisions and coordinates with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) and local governments to ensure the smooth distribution process of TPG for teachers.

Regarding the process of distributing TPG funds in the first quarter of 2024 to the teacher's account, he stated that until May the 2nd week there were only 26 local governments that had channeled TPG funds to the teacher's account and as many as 297 local governments were in the process of channeling TPG funds to the teacher's account.

A total of 223 local governments have not disbursed TPG funds considering that they are still in the process of distributing funds from the state treasury to the regional general treasury after the Ministry of Education and Culture provides recommendations for accelerating the distribution of funds from the state treasury to the regional general treasury.

Nunuk encourages educational units to update the Basic Education Data (Dapodik) and fill out the fulfillment of the teacher's workload for verification and validation.

This is because if it meets the requirements, the regional government operator will be proposed as a candidate for TPG funds in accordance with the specified deadline to avoid delays in disbursement.
