PALEMBANG - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan checked the presence of tankers worth IDR 50.9 billion that did not meet the requirements to sail on the Musi river, Palembang City, South Sumatra.
"The tanker worth IDR 50.9 billion, which is included in the category of non-new capital goods (BMTB), is the result of findings from surveillance activities outside the customs (post-border) area," said Zulkifli after visiting the ship in Palembang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 8.
The temporary security of the tanker is coordinated by the Ministry of Trade through the Medan Commercial Order Supervision Center (BPTN), with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
The tanker with a gross weight of 1,970 tons is a ship from China aged about 18 years and coded HS 8901.20.50.
The violation by the tanker importer is that there is no business license in the field of importing certain goods in the form of Import Approval (PI). Therefore it is not allowed to operate.
Director General of Consumer Protection Orderly Commerce Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Moga Simatupang, said the ship came from China and was ordered by PT AR to be operated in Palembang City.
