BLITAR - Class II Immigration Office Non TPI Blitar, East Java arrested two foreign nationals (WNA) from Pakistan. They asked for donations for Palestine to Blitar residents by forcing them.

Head of the Blitar Class II Immigration Office, Arief Yudistira, explained that the two foreigners had the initials MI (45) and MA (44). Both are Pakistani foreigners who have a residence permit issued at Juanda Airport in Surabaya on January 31, 2024, valid until March 25, 2024.

They were arrested in an immigration surveillance operation codenamed "Operation Jagratara", which was carried out to minimize immigration violations.

"From the results of the examination, MI and MA stated that they had entered and were in the Malaysian area to collect donations. Both then went to Indonesia by landing at Juanda Airport," Arief said in his statement, Wednesday, May 8.

They then continued their journey to Bandar Lampung to collect donations. While living in Indonesia, MI and MA then continued their journey to Jakarta and obtained an extension of the residence permit issued by the Class I Immigration Office of TPI East Jakarta valid from March 25 to May 28, 2024.

"MI and the Supreme Court then continued their journey to Malang, Pasuruan, Tulungagung and Blitar for the same purpose, namely collecting donations. They admitted that the purpose of sending donations was not to be sent to Palestine but to be sent to Pakistan," Arief continued.

He added that MI and MA admitted that the donation funds that were collected were also used for daily living expenses in the form of eating, drinking, staying at hotels, renting motorbikes, leasing vehicle fuel, purchasing train tickets, purchasing bus tickets and paying for an extension of the stay permit for visits.

"People feel restless and disturbed by the existence of MI and MA. They were arrested with several instructions in the form of donation notebooks from Takmir Masjid and the community regarding donations given to MI and MA," he said.

During the collection of donations, they received around Rp. 263 million. From the hands of the two, a sum of money worth around Rp. 24 million with various currencies was secured. Until now, the two foreigners are still undergoing examination and sent to the custody of the Blitar Immigration office.
