Government Prepares 301 Instant Houses For Victims Of Mount Space Eruption

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kemen PUPR) has allocated 301 units of Healthy Simple Instant Houses (RISHA) to relocate the homes of the victims of the eruption of Mount Ruang, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, to a safe location.

"Especially for PUPR, Mount Ruang it is because it wants to be vacated, what is prioritized is relocation," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 3.

He said the local provincial government noted that there were around 301 families (KK) who had to be relocated from around the scene, following the government's intention to make the area affected by the eruption a natural conservation room.

"Because in Mount Ruang it must be empty, it becomes a conservation area," he said.

The RISHA building allocated by the Ministry of PUPR is permanent, but has advantages that are easy and fast to establish when compared to building materials in general.

The RISHA building will be placed in the Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi, in a land area that is being conditioned by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/National Land Agency (BPN).

"A total of 100 RISHA building units will be sent from inventory warehouses in Medan, Jakarta, and Manado, while the rest will be imported from Surabaya," Basuki added.

"The land already exists. Now we want to check the Minister of ATR/BPN," he said.

Reporting from the website of the Ministry of PUPR, RISHA is the discovery of knock-down construction technology that can be built quickly, so it is referred to as instant technology.

RISHA uses reinforced concrete materials in its main staructure. This innovation is based on the need for accelerated housing supply at affordable prices while maintaining the quality of the building according to standards (SNI).

Earlier in February 2023, the Directorate General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR used 200 units of RISHA to relocate residents of victims of the Cianjur earthquake, West Java.

"RISHA is a normal house, like in Cianjur, so it's getting up quickly," said Basuki.

Regarding the budget allocation needed to relocate victims of the Mount Ruang eruption, Basuki said that all of them would be borne by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) after going through an audit process from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"We'll wake up first. Later when it's finished, then BPKP comes in, then it's paid. BNPB pays," he said when asked about the need for a relocation budget.
