Man Kills Ex-wife's Husband In Karawang, Police Reveals The Motive Is Heartache

The Karawang District Police arrested a man who killed the husband of the perpetrator's ex-wife who was allegedly triggered by heartache.

"The perpetrator with the initials SS (39), a resident of West Jomin Village who works as a duplicate key maker at Cikampek Market," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono, when exposing the case at the Karawang Police Headquarters, West Java (West Java), Thursday, May 2, was confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that the perpetrator with the initials SS had the heart to kill his victim using a sharp weapon of the type of sickle allegedly triggered by heartache.

The victim had the initials DI (38), a resident of West Jomin Village, Kotabaru, Karawang who is the husband of the perpetrator's ex-wife.

"The perpetrator killed the victim by slashing the sickle at the victim's stomach twice and into the victim's chest," he said.

The police chief said that the perpetrator did this because he felt hurt by his ex-wife's marriage to the victim.

The incident that resulted in the death of the victim occurred on April 29, 2024 at the victim's house, in Sukamulya Hamlet, West Jomin Village, Kotabaru District, Karawang.

From the hands of the police perpetrators confiscated a number of evidences including a black automatic Honda Vario motorcycle, a sickle type weapon, and two cellphones.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 351 paragraph 3 or Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution resulting in the death of another person or premeditated murder with a penalty of 20 years in prison.

Kasatreskrim Karawang Police AKP Abdul Jalil said the perpetrator was arrested for more than 24 hours after the incident.

"The perpetrator fled to the Purwakarta area and was finally arrested," he said.
