These 7 Airports Are Temporarily Closed Due To The Eruption Of Mount Ruang Which Erupted To Reach 2000 Meters

The Perum Institute for Indonesian Aviation Navigation Services or AirNav Indonesia issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) regarding the temporary closure of seven airports around the Sulawesi region.

The move to issue information on the flight was taken in connection with Mount Ruang again, the eruption on Tuesday, April 30 in the morning threw up an eruption of 2,000 meters spread to the north.

"Compuled from temporary data, there are a total of 50 flights affected at the seven airports, namely 25 departures and 25 arrivals, with a total of around 3,842 passengers," said AirNav Indonesia Corporate Secretary Hermana Soegijantoro in a statement, Wednesday, May 1, quoted by Antara.

The airports affected are as follows:

First, Gorontalo Airport (WAMG) with the number NOTAM: C0575/24 NOTAMN, closed from April 30, 13.17 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Second, Siau/Sitaro Airport (WAMO) with the number NOTAM: C0578/24 NOTAMN, closed from April 30, 10.49 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Third, Bolaang Mongondow Airport (WAMI) with the number NOTAM: C0577/24 NOTAMN, closed from April 30, 10.48 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Fourth, Tahuna/Naha Airport (WAMH) with the number NOTAM: C0576/24 NOTAMN, closed from April 30, 10.42 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Fifth, Pohuwato Airport (WAFZ) with the number NOTAM: C0581/24 NOTAM, closed from April 30, 12.02 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Sixth, the extension of the closure of Manado's Sam Ratulangi Airport (WAMM) with the number NOTAM: A1148/24 NOTAMR A1144/24, has been extended from April 30 at 11.13 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 12.00 WITA.

Seventh, Pogogul Airport (WAFY) with the number NOTAM: C0587/24 NOTAM, closed from April 30 at 15.28 WITA to May 1, 2024 at 18.00 WITA.

"AirNav Indonesia will continue to monitor and synergize with all relevant stakeholders for updated information and the impact of the eruption of Mount Ruang for flight safety and security," said Hermana.
