Police Arrest Former Embezzlement Manager Rp172 Million At Hotman Paris Restaurant

BOGOR - Bogor City Police, West Java, arrested the former manager of Hotmen restaurant owned by the famous lawyer Hotman Paris in Tajur Village, Bogor City, West Java, who embezzled the company's money amounting to Rp172 million.

Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso, said the suspect with the initials FA was arrested after fleeing to Purbalingga Regency, Central Java.

From the results of the examination, said Bismo, it was revealed that the suspect embezzled money in stages, then used it for online gambling and paid debts due to online gambling.

"The suspect took money from the locker where he worked. The person concerned took money not only once, but several times in stages," Bismo said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 30.

He revealed that the suspect had worked for one month at the restaurant. The first time the suspect embezzled the restaurant's proceeds on March 15, 2024.

The person concerned is a gossip about online gambling. Borrow money from his friends to play online gambling, and pay off his debt using the money he works for," he explained.

Head of the Bogor City Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Luthfi Olot Gigantara, said the suspect was on duty to deposit the restaurant's proceeds to the bank.

However, said Luthfi, instead of depositing it to the bank, the suspect instead used the money for his personal needs. Including buying a laptop, motorbike, and renting a hotel when he ran away from being chased by the police.

"So he kept the cashier's deposit in a locker, the key is that he only has access. For bad intentions, take the money for personal gain," explained Luthfi.

In addition, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of internal financial audits, laptops, CCTV footage and others. For his actions, the suspect FA was charged with Article 374 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement with a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison.
