Attorney General's Prisoners Get COVID-19 Vaccines, ST Burhanuddin: They Have The Right To Live

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has launched a vaccination program for all Adhyaksa Corps employees, including detainees.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said vaccines for prisoners had to be done. Because they also have the right to live healthily.

"Yes, it is true (the prisoners are vaccinated), after all, they have the right to live. And this is for all, not just for someone. Isn't it okay for prisoners to be healthy?", said Burhanuddin to reporters, Monday, March 8.

Based on data, there are at least 30 prisoners who will receive the vaccine. They are in the AGO's detention cell. Meanwhile, vaccinations for Attorney General's detainees who are entrusted to other institutions, continued Burhanuddin, will be coordinated first. They are confirmed to still receive the vaccine.

On the other hand, the vaccination program within the AGO starts today, Monday, March 8. At least the AGO gets 2.665 doses of vaccine.

Vaccines were given in stages until Friday, March 12. So, today it is targeted that 600 employees will be vaccinated.

"For all employees, starting from echelon I, echelon II, then also continuing with their wives, to OBs (office boy), all of them. So all those who have activities here, we are all vaccinated", said Burhanuddin.

In addition, administering vaccines to Adhyaksa Corps employees is very important. Because, as a law enforcer, direct interaction with the community is unavoidable.

"After all, having a direct relationship with the community can be prioritized", he said.
