Securing 13.20 Liters Of Liquid Methamphetamine In Bottles Of Packaging, Police Suspect Entering Riau Islands Through Hang Nadim Airport

The Indonesian National Police (KEPRI) - Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle 13.20 liters of liquid methamphetamine which was allegedly brought into the Riau Islands (Kepri) through Hang Nadim Batam International Airport.

Director of the Riau Islands Police Narcotics Investigation (Kepri) Police Commissioner Donny Alexander said the liquid methamphetamine was put in a bottle of Chinese tea bottled and packaged drinks which was the first mode handled by the Riau Islands Police.

"In this process, the form of liquid methamphetamine is new, and this is different from the name happy water. Happy water also contains it but this is pure liquid methamphetamine," said Donny in Batam, Monday, April 29, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that from the confession that the perpetrator received the liquid methamphetamine from the Indonesia-Malaysia sea border, it was brought through Batam City with the aim of sending Jambi Province.

"So the main goal is not in the Riau Islands area. The results of the investigation process of this item will be sent to the location of other provinces," he said.

Donny said, from the results of coordination with Bareskrim and also the forensic laboratory, the liquid methamphetamine is a form of precursor whose content is methamphetamine, as will create a form of liquid methamphetamine.

He explained that one liter of liquid methamphetamine can produce 2.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or solid.

"With the conditions that we secured earlier, which were already liquid containing methamphetamine, we strongly suspect that it will be crystallined and will be circulated in accordance with what we are doing with this mode of arrest," said Donny.

The Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Yan Fitri Halimansyah added that from the results of the confiscation of 13.20 liters of liquid methamphetamine, the government has succeeded in saving 162,500 people/mentals of the Indonesian people from the dangers of abusing methamphetamine.

In addition to thwarting the smuggling of liquid methamphetamine, the Riau Islands Police also managed to secure 28.86 kg of crystal-solid methamphetamine.
