Police Have Arrested A Phone Cable Thief Specialist In Taliabu Malut

The Taliabu Island District Police have arrested three people suspected of stealing telephone network cables (ANTARA)

Members of the Mobile Investigation Unit (Resmob) of the Taliabu Island Police, North Maluku, arrested three people suspected of stealing Telkomsel Bhakti network cables in Tikong Village, North Taliabu District.

"The arrest followed up on the complaint reported by brother Saiful Irawan as the person in charge of Telkomsel Bhakti in Tikong Village, North Taliabu District," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Taliabu Island Police, AKP I Komang Suriawan in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, April 28.

Furthermore, the Resmob team conducted an investigation based on the confirmation results of several sources and to arrest the three perpetrators with the initials RJ, MM and G in Tikong Village on Saturday (27/04), then they were taken to the Taliabu Island Police Headquarters.

"Currently, we from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Taliabu Island Police are still conducting an investigation, for the legal process in accordance with the complaint report from the victim, brother Saiful Irawan," said the former Weda Police Chief, Central Halmahera Regency.

On Tuesday (23/04) at around 09.00 East Indonesia Time, the head office reported to the WhatsApp group of tower/guide workers that the tower in Tikong Village died and lost its signal.

Furthermore, the tower in charge, namely Saiful Irawan and the witness checked at the tower/ara location in Tikong Village at around 16.00 East Indonesia Time, and it was found that the cable had been cut and 2 CCTV units were damaged and 1 CCTV unit was lost.

"The cables that were damaged included grounding cables, WTS power cables and GPS cables according to the victim's report," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Taliabu Island Police.

After that, said Komang, the victim took the CCTV memory to be checked and found three perpetrators who committed theft and vandalism.

"For the theft of the three perpetrators, Telkomsel Bhakti reported that he suffered an estimated loss of Rp. 50 million," he added.
