JAKARTA - Candidate for Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka plans to meet the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo who is also his father at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24 evening. Gibran acknowledged this to reporters after visiting the official residence of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin in Jakarta, today. "Later tonight," Gibran answered when asked when he would meet the President as quoted by Antara. Gibran also nodded his head when asked if he would visit the Palace today. Gibran also had stated that he would join Prabowo Subianto first before going to the Palace. "Later join Pak Prabowo again," said Gibran. Meanwhile, news circulated among journalists who said Prabowo Subianto would go to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday night. Until this news was made, the Presidential Palace had not provided information regarding Prabowo and Gibran's planned visit to the Palace. Previously, the General Elections Commission (KPU) had appointed the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair as the elected candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election.

Both will undergo the inauguration as President and Vice President on October 20, 2024.
