NasDem-PKB Ready If Invited To Join Prabowo-Gibran Government

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh and PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu and the party's DPP ranks held a meeting at NasDem Tower after the appointment of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as president and vice president elected for the 2024 General Election. After the meeting which lasted about 45 minutes, Surya Paloh said there was a discussion regarding the direction and attitude of the political party that carried Anies-Muhaimin in the 2024 presidential election in the future. Surya said, both NasDem and PKS are ready to join the Prabowo-Gibran government if they receive the invitation. NasDem and PKS are also said to be ready if they remain on the opposition line. "I said earlier with PKS friends, try to think about what is best for this country, PKS in government or outside the government. But for me, what I understand, there are similarities between PKS and NasDem. What are the similarities? Ready both," said Surya at NasDem Tower, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24. However, Surya admitted that NasDem and PKS were still studying internal parties before officially determining their stance. "What will the directions be later, whether in the government or outside the government, I think we are still reviewing it together too. So, it has not yet reached the final stage," said Surya. Continuing, Ahmad Syaikhu admitted that PKS received input from Surya Paloh at the meeting, to consider whether to join the government coalition or continue its opposition stance. "What will the link with the future look like, the input from Surya Paloh is extraordinary. That will be input for us in the DPP, because that will decide strategic matters whether to take the coalition or opposition," he explained. At the same time, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin received a visit from the elected presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto at the PKB DPP office. In front of Prabowo, Cak Imin stated that PKB wanted to continue collaborating with the Gerindra Party. In the meeting which lasted for approximately one hour, Cak Imin admitted that his party wanted to continue political cooperation both in parliament and in government. Cak Imin also congratulated Prabowo after being appointed as elected presidential candidate for 2024-2029 by the KPU.

"PKB and Gerindra as parties that have been working together in parliament and in executives, want to continue to work together more productively. Moreover, Pak Prabowo as President-elect will face various development agendas that are so challenging in the future," said Cak Imin during a press conference at the PKB DPP Office, Cikini, Central Jakarta.
