Prabowo Remembers The Debate Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates: Sometimes It's Hot, But Still One Big Family

JAKARTA - President-elect of the 2024 General Election Prabowo Subianto recalled the atmosphere of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates he underwent during the campaign period with his competitors in the presidential election. Prabowo understands that the heated debate and criticism between the presidential and vice-presidential candidates is a demand for democracy contestation. According to him, the criticism of each candidate pair did not dampen awareness to maintain a sense of unity. This was conveyed by Prabowo in his speech after being appointed president and vice president elected in 2024 with Gibran Rakabuming Raka by the General Elections Commission (KPU). "A sharp observation, debate is sometimes hot, but one thing I think we see together, no matter how sharp, no matter how sharp, we realize that we are still in the same group, one big family. We are both Indonesian children," said Prabowo at the KPU RI office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24. Furthermore, Prabowo admitted that he was grateful that the democratic process which ran with three pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates was quite long and confiscated the energy and thought had been completed. However, he emphasized that all parties who had previously competed must now work together. "After this, the people demand that all elements of the leadership must work together. Collaboration must be carried out to bring goodness, to bring prosperity, to eliminate poverty, to eliminate hunger, to eliminate corruption in the Indonesian nation," he stressed. On that occasion, Prabowo also promised to work for the community, both those who support and do not vote for him in the 2024 presidential election. "I thank all Indonesian people. Gibran and I will become president and vice president and will work for all Indonesian people. I will prove that I will work for all Indonesian people, including those who did not vote for me," said Prabowo.

Prabowo asked all parties to abandon differences and political competition and work together after the election was over. According to him, unity is needed to build Indonesia in facing world challenges to the welfare of the people. "This is the demands of the people. We must unite, we must unite. Whether unity is in government or outside the government, together we fight for the people of Indonesia," said Prabowo.
