Turkish President Erdogan The Value Of Resolution Of Gaza Conflict Is Very Important For The Islamic World

JAKARTA - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Islamic world needed to unite and find a solution to the Gaza crisis, when the Turkish leader was on his way after visiting Turkey, Anadolu news agency reported.

"Gaza is a place where the Islamic world must focus, engage in ideas to find solutions, and formulate realistic and effective policies," President Erdogan said, quoted from TASS April 24.

President Erdogan further continued, Turkey will continue to discuss these issues with representatives of the Palestinian militant group Hamas and the country's leaders.

President Erdogan said it was Turkey's top priority and his country would do everything it could to achieve that goal.

According to President Erdogan, it was a mistake to see Gaza's problems only from the perspective of the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict increased sharply.

"The killing and mobilization of Israel to destroy Gaza should change its approach to this issue. Israel's occupation of Gaza opens the door to other occupations. We will try to involve the UN secretariat and take joint action," he explained.

"If the Islamic world is not aware of the massacre that reaches the proportion of genocide, the Islamic world may lose its reflex altogether. Therefore, we cannot remain silent, we must move," said President Erdogan.

It is known that the Ministry of Health in Gaza on Tuesday announced that the death toll of Palestinians as a result of the Israeli attack had reached 34,183 people, while injuries had reached 77,143 people, as the war in the Palestinian enclave entered its 200th day.

Citing CNN, the state media office in Gaza reported that the number of children killed during the conflict had reached 14,778 as well as 9,752 women. As a result of the ongoing war, about 17,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both of their parents. And, about 7,000 others are thought to be missing.

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, the death toll from violence by settlers and Israeli officials against Palestinians has killed 487 people, of which 122 are children under the age of 18.

The office also estimates that around 86,000 houses were destroyed, another 294,000 were partially destroyed or unfit for habitation, and 103 schools and universities were destroyed while another 300 were damaged.
