Wednesday Morning KPU Appoints Prabowo-Gibran President And Vice President, Ganjar And Anies Invited

The General Election Commission (KPU) will appoint the elected president and vice president Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming at the KPU office, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24, after the Constitutional Court (MK) rejected Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD and Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar's lawsuit.

"Wednesday morning at 10.00 on April 24, 2024 at the KPU, we will make this determination," explained KPU member August Mellaz Tuesday, April 23.

According to Mellaz, based on Article 4 of KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 6 of 2024, the determination of the elected president and vice president must be carried out no later than 3 days after the Constitutional Court's decision.

He said the KPU had also invited two other pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely Ganjar-Mahfud MD and Anies-Muhaimin Iskandar to attend the Prabowo-Gibran appointment as president and vice president-elect. "We have invited the three of them," said August Mellaz.

However, Mellaz revealed that he had not received confirmation of the presence of the Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud pairs. "We hope that all candidate pairs can attend this event," he added.

In addition to the three candidate pairs, the KPU also invited leaders of state institutions, as well as general chairman and secretary general of political parties involved in the 2024 General Election.

Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto is certain to attend the appointment of the elected president. "Tomorrow I will face the KPU at 10, at the KPU," he said on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Tuesday.

After the KPU was determined, Prabowo emphasized that he would start conducting political communication on all elements in order to form a coalition.

"We will start working to communicate politically with all elements, we will try to build a strong and effective coalition, we have finished the match, there has been a decision, the people hope to demand everything to unite, work for the benefit of the nation and the people," Prabowo said in Kertanegara, Jakarta, Tuesday.

Prabowo said that the Constitutional Court's decision was the end of the presidential election process. Currently, it is a moment to reunite the Indonesian nation and reunite to work for the people.
