PDIP Asks KPU To Postpone Prabowo-Gibran's Determination Because The Administrative Court Lawsuit Will Be Tried

The PDI-P Legal Team (PDIP) asked the General Election Commission (KPU) to postpone the stipulation of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected presidential and vice presidential candidates on Wednesday, April 24. This is because the State Administrative Court (PTUN) will hear their lawsuit.

This was conveyed by Typane Gayus Lumbuun, who is one of the legal advisory teams. He said the Administrative Court decided to file a lawsuit against the KPU for establishing Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

"The result of the decision submitted is that our petition deserves to be processed in the main court of the case because what we found was entirely this morning into this decision," Gayus told reporters at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 23.

Gayus said this delay had also been conveyed to the KPU. They have visited the office of the election organizers.

He hopes that the KPU will obey the law by delaying the determination of the pair number two. Because this is an opportunity to prove that there was a violation in the last democratic party.

"If I say that in this Administrative Court it will be read, all problems will be revealed because of violations of the law by the authorities," he said.

It is also believed that the trial in this Administrative Court can remind the KPU to work according to the corridor. "Our hope is that the KPU must be aware that the KPU must obey the law," said Gayus.

"The law can be sovereign in this country which delays the determination of a pair who is considered to have won, which is already final and binding, which is not so complete because there are still new problems that are questioned in other courts, namely the State Administrative Court which will try whether there are violations, whether there is an omission, approximately," he continued.

Previously reported, PDIP emphasized respect for the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which rejected the lawsuit for the 2024 presidential election dispute for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. However, they ensure that the legal process in the Administrative Court will continue to fight for democracy.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto in response to the Constitutional Court's decision which was read out today, Monday, April 22. He said, what was conveyed must be obeyed but his party will fight through other channels.

"Even though the Constitutional Court failed in carrying out its functions as a bulwark of the Constitution and a bulwark of democracy, considering the nature of its final and binding decision, the PDI-P respects the Constitutional Court's decision and will continue to fight in maintaining the Constitution and fighting for democracy through democratic, honest and fair elections," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 22.

"And fight to use every legal space including through the Administrative Court," he continued.
