West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police investigators have detained a suspect in the alleged embezzlement of electronic goods worth Rp. 15 billion.
"Yes, we have detained the suspect from this case," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTB Police, Kombes Syarif Hidayat, in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, April 23.
The suspect who is suspected of violating Article 372 of the Criminal Code is a woman from Sumbawa with the initials LU (58).
Syarif ensured that investigators named LU as a suspect based on the results of the case title which found at least two pieces of evidence related to the alleged embezzlement of electronic goods belonging to the complainant, in this case his former brother-in-law, Ang Sansan, in August 2023.
With the suspect's detention, Syarif said that in the near future his party would hand over the case files to the research prosecutor.
Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, confirmed that his party had not yet received the case file belonging to the suspect LU from the police investigator.
"There has been no delegation to us yet," he said.
Regarding this case, the reporter through his attorney, Robby Akhmad Surya Dilaga, explained that the nominal value of Rp. 15 billion was related to the value of electronic goods and several units of four-wheeled vehicles belonging to CV Electronic Sources under the control of the suspect LU.
According to Robby, the items controlled by the suspect did not belong to his brother, who is now dead, namely Slamet Riyadi Kuantana alias Toe, but belonged to his client, who is the ex-wife of Slamet Riyadi Kuantanaya.
"These embezzled items belong to our client as the owner of all shares of the CV Electronic Source located in Sumbawa with a businessman from Lombok named Jaya Anggrawan," said Robby.
The problem arose when Slamet Riyadi died. Robby said that the suspect LU had taken advantage of the situation by taking over all of his brother's assets.
The suspect LU took over by controlling the warehouse where the Electronic Source CV was stored. "The warehouse lock was damaged, the contents were taken over," he said.
The warehouse owned by the company, it is said that Robby was searched by NTB Police investigators and found a number of items belonging to CV Electronic Sources, such as refrigerators and air conditioning as well as several units of four-wheeled vehicles originating from Jaya Anggrawan's capital.
Separately, the attorney for the suspect LU, Safran, denied claims from the reporting party. He also questioned the emergence of the Rp15 billion figure as a nominal loss in the alleged embezzlement case.
"How can the nominal value of Rp. 15 billion be claimed to be a loss from this case, while our client has only been in the past two weeks to continue managing his sister's business," said Safran.
He also said that the nominal value of Rp. 15 billion from the results of the audit of the public accountant did not deserve to be used by investigators as complete evidence.
"That's the result of an audit from December 2018 to 2023, while the management of the CV Electronic Source store by our client has only been running for the past two weeks," he said.
He also questioned the investigator's decision to determine the results of the audit of the public accountant as complete evidence of the determination of the suspect.
"How can this secondary need be sold in Sumbawa in two weeks. We will deny this later and prove it at trial," he said.
Likewise with the claim of the reporter stating that the CV of Electronic Sources is his. Safran challenged the reporter to prove this in court.
"This client of ours is the heir, considering that the owner of this CV Electronic Source has passed away, and has no descendants, legally speaking, the heir is his brother, in this case our client," said Safran.
The basis of the suspect is that LU continues its CV Electronic Source business related to loans in banks with land certificates and CV Electronic Resources store buildings which belong to the family of the suspect LU.
"What is clear is that we will prove all of this in court that the alleged crime against our client is not true," he said.
