Surakarta - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surakarta City Police, Central Java, examined two perpetrators who were desperate to steal by passing the railroad bolts in the Puncanbeklit area, Jebres District, Solo. "The case of the theft of railroad bolts was carried out by two youths with the initials RNF (17) and MI (14), both residents of Jaten, Karanganyar, and are currently being questioned at the Surakarta Police Headquarters," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surakarta Police, Kompol Ismanto Yuwono in Solo, Antara, Tuesday, April 23. The reckless action carried out by the two perpetrators could be fatal for a train trip in the Pucanbeklit Jebres area, Solo, on Saturday, April 20 at around 05.00 WIB. The actions of the two youths were first known by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) rail patrol officers who were combing the rail lines in the area. Two officers during routine patrols found out that two people were carrying out suspicious activities at the location. Two officers after observing it turned out that the two perpetrators were removing the rail bolts attached to the rail pads. The two officers immediately chased the perpetrator who tried to escape, but were caught. Officers from PT KAI from the search results of the two perpetrators had released six railroad bolts. "The two perpetrators carried out an action in a quiet location. So they took advantage of the condition of the area, it was quiet to carry out their actions," said Ismanto Yuwono. The two arrested perpetrators were immediately handed over to the Jebres Police. However, both of them because their status was still minors, were eventually transferred to the Women and Children Protection Unit (UPPA) of the Surakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The two perpetrators took action to remove the railroad bolts using the right key. The police confiscated evidence in the form of a motorcycle, a tight key, and six train rail bolts.

The perpetrator admitted to doing this for the first time, but the police are still investigating. The perpetrator admitted that the railroad bolts would be sold to collectors of used goods. The police are waiting for the parents of the two perpetrators to be questioned.
