JAKARTA - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) again closed tourist activities on Mount Bromo on April 25-26, 2024. The closure was carried out to clean up the area.
Head of Administration Section of the TNBTS Center Septi Eka Wardhani said similar activities were carried out in early April 2024. This effort, he said, aims to provide education to visitors about waste prevention.
"We want to provide education to visitors, that the garbage is a big problem and must be prevented together," said Septi in Malang City, East Java, Tuesday, April 23, as reported by Antara.
Septi explained that the public or tourists visiting the national park area were asked not to throw away or leave the garbage. The waste can be stored first and will be disposed of in the provided place.
According to him, TNBTS BB hopes that the public can be more aware of the importance of not littering in the national park area. Visitors are expected to be more responsible for their respective waste.
"The national park area is not a garbage dump. That's why we don't provide a lot of trash cans, because we hope visitors can be responsible for their own waste," he said.
The first phase of the Bromo area cleaning action has been carried out on April 4 from 00.01 WIB to April 5, 2024 at 23.59 WIB. The second phase will be carried out on April 25 at 00.01 WIB until April 26, 2024 at 23.59 WIB.
