Anies Admits That He Will Often Meet Coalition Political Parties Despite Losing The Constitutional Court Lawsuit

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan visited the office of the coalition political party that carried him after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which rejected the request for a dispute over the 2024 presidential election.

The Constitutional Court's decision rejecting Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud's lawsuit was announced by the Constitutional Court Monday, April 22 afternoon. After that, Anies came to NasDem Tower to meet NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh.

Then, Anies visited the DPP office of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in the evening to meet the Chairman x PKB Muhaimin Iskandar who is also the vice presidential candidate pair in the presidential election.

"Earlier we met, regarding the Constitutional Court's decision, we had conveyed it. Then we visited the leaders of the supporting parties," said Anies at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 22.

Anies admitted that he would visit the DPP office of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) on Wednesday, April 23 to meet PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta revealed the reason why he still met the coalition political parties even though he had lost the lawsuit at the Constitutional Court.

"Actually, the activity conveys that the mandate that was established and the results have been seen together and now let's start it so that the transition goes well, hopefully, it will be even better," said Anies.

On that occasion, Anies also admitted that he would still meet the political parties that carried him to discuss political steps in the future.

"Later, we will meet often. There is still a lot of time. We will focus on following up from the results of the verdict," he continued.

It is known that the Constitutional Court rejected Anies-Muhaimin's request as well as Ganjar-Mahfud. The court considered that the arguments submitted by the applicant were not based on law.

The rejected application was to cancel the results of the 2024 presidential election, to disqualify Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and to re-vote.

"Reject the applicant's application in its entirety," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo when reading the verdict.

However, the three Constitutional Court judges expressed different opinions or dissenting opinions on this decision, namely Saldi Isra, Enny Nurbaningsih, and Arief Hidayat.

The three of them view that the request should be partially granted, as well as re-voting on a number of areas deemed problematic.
